Case Study
Boone Gardiner
Boone Gardiner has been offering their landscape design, build, and consultation services to Louisville, Kentucky for over 125 years. With such a long history in the city, people have likely seen the Boone Gardiner name when visiting local attractions including Kentucky Kingdom, Farmington Historic Home, Jeffersons Reserve Distillery, and more. A family-owned and operated business, Boone Gardiner came to Honeywick with one request: bring their website into the 21st century to show off the work they’ve accomplished over the last 100 years as they ushered in the fifth generation of leadership.
Our work with Boone Gardiner began with a deep-dive into everything that had been going on in their day-to-day operations but hadn’t made it onto their existing website. This collaborative approach led to the discovery of a podcast, Gardening with the Gardiners, that was nowhere to be found outside of streaming platforms as well as a treasure trove of imagery—both historical and modern—that was begging to be showcased throughout the new website. Rich content like the podcast, historical photography, and expansive copy made the website design and development process incredibly fun.
When provided with such in-depth materials, the various teams at Honeywick are able to stretch their respective creative muscles and not only create a design that is uniquely our client’s, but also breathe exceptional personality into it through development functionality. For Boone Gardiner, that included an image portfolio to showcase the breadth of skillsets the Boone Gardiner team possesses, a page dedicated to the Gardening with the Gardiner podcast that is set to automatically update as new episodes are released weekly, an Instagram feed integration aimed at keeping the homepage updated with minimal development requirements, and a standalone portion of the website intended to highlight the extensive history and expansive future of Boone Gardiner.
