Case Study
Musselman Hotels' existing website was a little outdated, so they came to Honeywick for assistance with updating content, imagery, fonts, and colors. We collaborated to make subtle yet noticeable changes across the ‘site. Emphasizing Musselman Hotels’ credibility, locality,
and quality of service was the central goal of our work.
First, we organized a professional photoshoot onsite at various hotel locations, capturing high quality images of the property interiors as well as updated headshots of key team members. Good photography is absolutely essential to establish trustworthiness and visual identity for any brand. As you can see, the updated homepage slider cycles through photos of hotels and staff members, showcasing the beautiful interiors and familiar faces you encounter at Musselman Hotels.
Consistent brand voice is crucial to create a sense of coherency and trust on any website. Even subtle errors like out-of-date info and dead links can distract and detract potential customers. By removing redundancies and updating old content across the website, we helped improve the brand’s presence as a whole.
The previous Musselman Hotels website was composed of minimal color: black, white, and muted gray. We subtly shifted to a wider range of colors – warm, dusty tan, rich gold, and shades of academic green. We also modernized fonts throughout the website, working in a mix of accessible, minimal fonts for buttons and body copy.

Founded in Kentucky in 1989 by Chester Musselman, this award-winning hotel management company has developed more than forty hotels throughout the region.
